The issue of reducing energy consumption and the threat was voiced vigorous carbon emission taxes inspire technology companies to produce environmentally friendly energy.
Hewlett-Packard (HP), is one company that helped to think about this. At the conference the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, held this week, HP Labs researchers presenting scientific papers on the use of cow dung and other farm waste to generate electricity.
Quoted from Computer World, Friday (21/05/2010), in his presentation the researchers calculate that the filth generated by 10 000 cows can be used to provide power for 1,000 units of the server. The trick is to convert cow manure into bio-energy first, and then used to generate electricity.
Unfortunately, this idea has not been realized within a project. "I had not planned to order the cow dung," said one HP Labs researcher Tom Christian.
But not difficult for the Christian and his team to attract many people. Some companies seem attracted to realize energy projects 'green' is. "Their response is very serious to make it happen," he said.
